Launch of the Stained Glass in Wales Catalogue, followed by a visit to St Mary's Church, Swansea, where some of the artists whose work is represented in the church will speak about their windows.

Digital Artist Consultant for the Royal Albert Memorial Museum & Art Gallery, Exeter (RAMM)

RAMM wishes to appoint an energetic and highly motivated Digital Artist Consultant to identify a digital artist to work on a commission as part of its redevelopment and as part of New Expressions II programme.

New Expressions II is in its second year of funding, and is a regional programme to create meaningful engagements between contemporary artists, museum collections and audiences.

Digital Art and Culture 2009 is the 8th in an international series of conferences begun in 1998. DAC is recognized as an interdisciplinary event of high intellectual caliber.

This iteration of DAC will dwell on the specificities of embodiment and cultural, social and physical location with respect to digital technologies and networked communications.

DAC09 will be structured around themes, each theme being composed of panels.

DAC09 will be held in the Arts Plaza of the University of California Irvine. Simon Penny is director of DAC09.

VADS is the online resource for visual arts. It has provided services to the academic community for 13 years and has built up a considerable portfolio of visual art collections comprising over 100,000 images that are freely available and copyright cleared for use in teaching, learning and research in the UK.

Services provided: 

VADS offers advice and guidance to the visual arts research, teaching and learning communities on all aspects of digital resource management from funding, through delivery and use, to preservation.

VADS provides:

  • expert guidance and help for digital projects in art education
  • resource development and hosting for art education
  • project management and consultancy for art education
  • leadership in the innovative use of ICT in education through its research and development activities
