The E-Curator research project "3D colour scans for remote object identification and assessment" is a project at UCL Museums and Collections.
This project draws on UCL's expertise both in curatorship and in e-Science. It takes advantage of the presence at UCL of world class collections across a range of disciplines and of a state of the art colour scanner, the quality of which is unequalled in the UK. [read more]

project: British Newspapers 1620-1900
Grant Holder:
The goal of the British Newspapers 1620-1900 project was to make available on the web a digitised collection of British newspapers that spans all regions of the British Isles and is representative of newspapers published between 1620 and 1900. The intention was to deliver at least a further one million pages of digitised texts and load them to the Gale Cengage Learning website, and increase the content to four million pages of searchable text for pre 1900 newspapers. Grant Holder:
The overall aim of the project was to make it easier for readers to move between publications on the Web, instead of walking from one library shelf to another. Bringing information together in this way helps researchers to recognise a new range of relationships and interactions. [read more]
project: A Digital Library of Core e-Resources on Ireland
Grant Holder:
This project fills a critical gap in the provision of research and learning resources in Irish studies. The content comes from an unparalleled grouping of collaboration - collectively the partners hold an unrivalled range of printed research materials that are simply not available to the academic community in such critical mass elsewhere. The project will make the resources in the partner institutions more accessible to a wider audience. [read more]
project: First World War Poetry Digital Archive
Grant Holder:
The First World War Poetry Digital Archive is an online repository of over 7000 items of text, images, audio, and video for teaching, learning, and research.
The heart of the archive consists of collections of highly valued primary material from major poets of the period, including Wilfred Owen, Isaac Rosenberg, Robert Graves, Vera Brittain, and Edward Thomas. This is supplemented by a comprehensive range of multimedia artefacts from the Imperial War Museum, a separate archive of over 6,500 items contributed by the general public, and a set of specially developed educational resources. project: 19th Century Pamphlets Online
Grant Holder:
The aim of the project was to provide researchers, teachers and learners with online access to significant collections of 19th century pamphlets held within UK research libraries. The project drew on the pamphlet holdings of seven research libraries (Bristol, Durham, Liverpool, LSE, Manchester, Newcastle and UCL), choosing collections that focused on the political, social and economic issues of the day. project: Montréal l'avenir du passé (MAP)
Grant Holder:
Montréal l'avenir du passé (MAP) was established in 2000 to create an historical GIS research infrastructure for 19th and 20th century Montréal. We have digitized six highly detailed historical maps representing all buildings in the city for 1825, 1846, 1880, 1912, 1949 and 2000. The first three and last have been geo-referenced and we have successfully "peopled" them by linking at the street-scape (1846) or lot level (1880 & 2000) census returns, tax records, city directories and a wide variety of non-routinely generated sources. project: CESAR a comprehensive online repository of French Theatre resources in the 17th and 18th centuries

The primary aim was to produce a single, coherent listing of all known theatre and related performances in France between 1600 and 1800, searchable by date, title, location, genre and by the names of the people involved in whatever capacity. The database was to have an interactive web interface. The second aim was to make the entire structure bi-directional, i.e. to take advantage of the same web interface to permit members of the international scholarly community, after a simple registration procedure, to annotate, comment upon, extend and correct any field in the database.
