For me, research begins at Google.com from the comfort of my living room. I am not alone. Many students, undergraduate to more experienced PhD researchers, do the same and there is good reason for it. The library search experience is often disappointing, confusing and restricting. With the advent of Google Scholar and Google Books, there is even less of a reason to physically go to the library to begin research.

This event is focused on the 10 development of selected projects that put into action collaboration and local urban knowledge networks using free software and hardware technologies as well as “Do It Yourself” (DIY) and “Do It With Others”(DIWO) methods.

Literature in computer-based and networked media does not only transform literary structures, interfaces, and genres – as a teaching-subject, it also re-configures curricular frameworks.

Peter Gendolla and Jörgen Schäfer (University of Siegen, Germany) for the past years continuously have examined the transformations in literary communication in numerous books and articles as well as lectures and classes.
